  • disable low oil warning after removing oil pump: Yamaha

98 YAM 1200 XL. I am about to remove the oil pump as outlined in your technical articles with a block off kit I bought from SBT. My question is:
Once I drain all the oil out of the oil tank, how do I diable the low oil warning light/aural. Also for pre-mix: you recommend 40:1. I will be using quality Yamalube 2W.
Another issue that causes concern is the oil injection system in general (when healthy). Too many zip ties and the
design lends itself to something coming undone. Do any companies make aftermarket oil lines that have the oil line
and check valve as one integral piece? This design would limit the number of zip ties to 2 per oil line instead of
    4 per oil line.

There are 2 wires, one black and one blue that go to your oil tank. You need to tie those wires together (with a wire nut or similar conector), before the wires get to the oil tank, this will fool your injection system into thinking you have a full tank of oil, your gauge will also read full, but the warning indicator and alarm will be permamnetly disabled.

Good choice to use Yamalube oil in your Waverunner.
    Just tryin' to help out.
