Re: 92 waverunner
Some one may have removed the water tube that makes the pisser work, it serves no purpose but gets the guy following you wet. Search on pwctoday.com for aftermarket add on's to make your ski run faster.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Re: 92 waverunner
If you look on the inside top edge of the jet nozzle you will see a flat spot where the visibility spout mounts. You might think its cheap to replace -
Call yamaha dealer or parts house and see . You'll laugh... It's plastic and about the size of half pack of cigs...
Mods are easy on these stick with the simple stuff - run NGK plugs
BR8HS If im not mistaken.
Aftermarket velocity stack and high flow air filter - ebay has many
Aftermarket waterbox - check out TDRracing.com
Make sure you have clean gas tank lines and filter ! no air leaks !
Performance will suffer if so...
Do not expect better than about 35 to 40mph tops. If your in this range
and running smooth thats as good as it gets on a 650 WR

Re: 92 waverunner
Many many to choose from. I just sold my 92 VXR 650 - and from an old ski standpoint that thing was rock solid. It must have had a million hours on it and still ran like new. The hull was beat up and it lived it's early life in upstate New York as a rental ski.. I was third own in florida...
Still sold it for $950 and it had a ton of mods The Yamaha 650 and 701 motors are very reliable. I would tell you to go to 4 stroke but it's a big
chunk o money. If I wanted to stay with a 2 stroke and upgrade a step up look for a good used XL700 or 760...

Re: 92 waverunner
That sounds like a sieze up. Not good ! Take the plugs out and try it with no plugs in the holes... Try squirting a little oil down each plug hole.
Try to crank it over. Check your oil injection or completely remove it.
then run premix at between 44 to 1 and 50 to 1 ratio.
could be other issues but start here and see if the motor will turn over with plugs out....

Re: 92 waverunner
The flush hose MUST be closed off when not in use. It should have a cap
over the end. The hose screws into it. Tight like a garden hose and sprinkler.
If this was left uncapped or disconnected while running it will kill the motor.
Not enough water running thru it. 650 motors are fairly easy to find but most get bought up quickly for use in older model standups...
If you had been running it like you described for any length of time you could have cooked the motor. The party could be over.
If you can correct the issues try to do or get a compression test done .
Should be around 150 psi per hole if good.
Good luck hpDetailed answers and simple questions are always found here !
