2002 gp1200r difficult start

Hi,
I bought a used gp1200r has 40 hrs on it. Cat had been removed. This is my first ski. I seem the have trouble getting it to start the first time of the day, after it starts the first time it runs great. Any suggestion on the correct way to start it or do I need to start checking for something wrong? I have good gas, oil and new spark plugs.

That ski can be a little hard starting, Most people install primer kits on the carbs and that solves the problem. The pop off pressure is set so high is why it is so difficult to start, thats just the nature of the ski.
