2004 FX Cruiser HO top speed problem

My 2004 FX Cruiser HO has appox 45 hours time on it. My problem surfaced the recently when I went to accelerate it would bog for a few seconds and then would get to full speed, appox 60 mph. It did this intermittingly for a few days. Now it will only accelerate to appox 45 mph. The engine runs smooth but the top end is gone. I checked the oil level and it reads 1/4" below full, air cleaner is clean and spark plugs look good. If anybody have any ideas on this problem I would appreicate your input.

Check fuel pump pressure, the pump could be failing. 45-47 psi is what is needed
