yamaha sponson bracket replace

Hi all. I need to change the bracket that holds the sponson on a 2000 XL1200 Ltd.
It looks like I will need to cut away the inside foam to get at it. Any idea how I do this?and how I repair the foam after I change out the bracket? Thanks.

I would use a hacksaw blade and cut the foam away, after that use silicone to glue the foam back in. You might want to post your question on PWC today.com for more ideas.
