I'm putting my 02 FX 140 back to gether after having a broken timing chain and bent valves. [want to know more see this thread http://www.shopsbt.com/forum/showthr...305&pagenumber=] . So I've go the head bolted on, the new timing chain installed and the cams bolted in. Chain Tensioner in. Right at TDC of piston #1 the timing marks don't exactally line up. They are off just a few degrees. Does this matter? I think that if I was to adjust the chain over one more tooth that it would be way off. See the pictures.

    Re: Timing marks and TDC

The tech department will not go over 4 stroke timing due to the complexity of it, There is too much of a chance of error and major engine damage if its not done precisely. It would be in your best interest to invest in a factory manual to do this task.
