Thermo limit switch

Anyone know how to get the CDI box open... manual says to take out the 10 screws and lift off lid.... yea right...
Mine won't come apart and i need to replace the thermo limit switch on a xl700....if you done it let me know ur trick.....

The gasket holds it together nice and tight also.
