  • 98 XL1200 65U non -pv muffler: leaking a little help

The muffler (blue) where is bends around and connects to the exhaust manifold is a pain! I have the correct gasket which was hard to get in, however, I may have damaged it a little trying to connect it so it is leaking a little. I did not put gasket sealer in it which I will do after pulling it off again.
What kind of strong gasket sealer would do this? Also, what can i add on the outside of the pipe once it is reconnected to assure no leakage?

Don't add anything to the outside of the pipe, but you can use permatex ultra copper silicone sealant on both sides of the gasket then put it back together.
