I changed the jet pump housing at the beginning of summer since the impeller was locked metal to metal on the original housing. The impeller looked ok. The rattling noise at idle was there all summer. I can't remember if it was that way when new. At the end of summer the rattling was still there and the new pump housing is scratched a little with no significant goughes. I'm wondering if this is a normal noise or indicative of the need of a rebuild kit in the jet pump or drive line housing.

Thanks for response but I'd like to ask one more thing about this. At idle, apx 500 rpm, the rattle is very noisy, especially with seat off, and the engine is shaking so much I have a hard time getting a screwdriver on the idle adjustment screw. When idle is increased to apx 1000-1500rpm alot of noise and shaking is gone. Does this still sound "normal"??Comment

Your in water idle should be higher than 500 rpms, bump it to 750 and check it then.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.
