    Gelcoat repar questions

    I have a 2000 Yamaha SUV. I am doing a wear ring replacement and when I took the pump unit out I noticed a "dent" in the hull. Looks like the gelcoat surface was pushed up into the glass.

    Is this a simple gelcoat repair or do I need to dig it out and do glass then gelcoat ?

    If there is any splintering you will have to do glass work, if not then gelcoat should fill it in.

      There is no splintering that i can see .... i can run my finger across it and it is smooth .... its just like the gelcoat was pushed up into the glass and the dent is like 1/8" deep
