2001 XL 800 doesn't start

I am working with a 2001 XL 800 that started fine from this winter storgae. Ran about two tanks of fuel just fine. Shut off while running like a low fuel situation. Fuel level and condition is fine, Plugs don't look fouled and are firing. It only tried to fire one time and that was from the carb cleaner residue left over from cleaning the plugs. The warning alarm does come on after a few times of turning the engine over?? Any ideas?

It may have a bad over heat sensor, also do a compression check on the engine and post back.
