  • GP1200R Millenium Edition pooling oil

I have a new-to-me GP1200R 2000 model that oozes TCW3 oil when it sits. The oil comes out under the cowling and pools in the gunnels. Note that I have yet to run this ski after rebuilding the #3 cylinder over the winter (kudo's to SBT for their support in that endeavor). If anyone can explain oil pooling after sitting unused to me, I will appreciate it as oil isn't all that reactive to temperature variations.

All systems seem like a go on the ski and the weather is getting warmer so I want to go out and use it, but am worried that I may have an oil issue?

    Thanks,
    Brian

If you fill the oil tank all the way up the hose to the filler cap this can happen. The oil level is most likely filled higher then the vent valve.

Thanks, I figured that was it, but because it was a new ski to me I felt it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Happy boating season to us all!
