I have had a 1999 Yahama 1200xl LTD for about 4 years. I ran it Saturday and it started cutting off without any warning lights or sound indicators. It took a few minutes for it to want to start back, but then it did, it didn't want to stay running when you tried to go fast. I tried recharging the battery and that didn't work. I took it out Sunday and it did the same thing except I could get it to run and then it ran like a 3 legged dog. Seemed to be missing like it had some bad fuel. I could not get it to full power, it would bog down and sometimes cut off. It would crank back up after a few minutes. Still no lights or sound indicators as to what might be wrong. Any suggestions? If the fuel in it is over 3 months old get rid of it, its bad. The carbs may need a good cleaning, also If the carbs are dirty dont keep riding it you will only damage the engine. Check the compression, see what your at, you may be low in a cylinder from running too lean.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.
