  • GP800 piston replacement

I'm replacing a piston in my GP800. Which way do the rings go with bevels. Bevel up or down on which ring?

like this ----\/----- or like this ----/\----- with the top of the piston up?

    Thanks,
    Mark

      Thanks,

After looking at the piston more closely I see the spots to prevent the ring ends from aligning; the shape of the end of rings makes more sense.

Do you guys use any gasket sealant sealant on the exhaust manifold, or just put them on dry? There seems to be consensus that no sealant goes between the cylinder and case, but it seems there are a lot of different opinions about the exhaust gasket.

      Thanks,

I always seal the gaskets from the cylinder to the case, you dont want any air leaks.
