  • 1997 Gp12 Bendix and flywheel questions.

Hello Everyone, I have a 1997 Gp 1200 and my hull cracked last weekend. The engine compartment got filled with water almost half way. To make a long story short I got salt water in the flywheel. I removed all the water but now the Bendix is stock and it wont engage the flywheel. Also I see rust starting to form in the flywheel and the Magneto asambly. So my questions are: Do I have to pull the flywheel to take out the Bendix? How can i lubricate the flywheel and the magneto so it wont keep on rusting? And if I have to pull the flywheel to take out the bendix do i need to remove the bolt that drives the oil pump?

Thank you all in advanced for your help.
