  • Oil Pump Check Valves

I was checking the oil pump check valves on a motor I just put in my WVT1100. I tried blowing air through them....2 of them I could not blow through and one of them I could blow through both directions. Is there any other way to test these things?
I noticed these little things are EXPENSIVE!!!. Is it required to have them installed? It seams to me that their only purpose is to keep oil from draining back down the hose and could cause maybe "dry" starts.

You have to have them. If they are not working replace them or go pre-mix.
