2001 Yamaha 1200suv damaged piston

Hi, My waverunner had a damaged center piston, I replaced all three but now I before starting it up again how do I check if the oil pump & valves are functioning correctly? Does the oil pump & valves usually get damaged I don't see any damage but the damaged piston didn't have any lubrification when I changed it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I would think if you pull the spark plugs and spin motor to prime the carb would be a option but if it's possible u might want to premix only because if fuel gets to carbs then oil does to! Just a thought
