I have a 96 Yamaha wave venture that wont rev past about 1/3 throttle, new carb kits and fuel filter. Fuel looks good, no water or debris. The front carb that has a nipple for the return line but doesn't have anything coming out. Does this model have a return line? Every Mikuni watercraft carb I have ever worked on has a return line so what the heck. Any help would be appreciated...

My 96 Yamaha Wave Venture WVT1100U has return nipple with a pin-size orifice on the top fuel rail at the front end of the carburetor assembly. It's connected to a return hose that goes to the tank at a lone fitting about 1" forward and port of the main tank access boot. I'm no expert, but I believe if you have the single fuel pump at the rear of the carb assembly that feeds the lower fuel rail, then the top rail is the return and should return to the tank. See if you can find the tank fitting I'm referring to and a hose that goes to nowhere.
