  • Oil Pump Plate - Ultra150

Questions about coverting to mix on a Ultra 150.

    1. Does SBT have the Oil pump plate Kit for a Ultra 150 ? I see all the other Kawasaki models listed except the ultra 150.

    2. What happens to the oil lines that don't go to the carbs when the kit gets installed ?

    3. Is there any performace differance ?? The oil pump allows the mix to be adjusted depending on need so won't it run better with the pump ? If you idle a lot and the mix is for maximum protecting (Full Throttle) won't you foul plugs more often ?? I Ride hard and idle very little so it probably won't affect me.

I recently had a engine failure and I really like the idea of mixing to eliminate the complete oil injection system from causing problems (Pump , Lines, Fittings, Etc) if there is no performance problems.

    Thanks

Sorry, you can not pre-mix an Ultra. If your pump is bad you need a new one from your dealer.

Re: Oil Pump Plate - Ultra150

How do I know if it's bad ?? I had a piston skirt break off and I am getting a new engine from SBT. Just trying to ensure the new engine doesn't go ....

      Thanks

You have to spin it counter clockwise at 7000 rpm and measure the output - it's not easy.

Premix the fuel like it wasn't working for the first tank, fill the oil tank then see how much oil it uses during break-in. It should use @3-4 oz. per gal of fuel burnt.

            To test the oil pump:
-Put a 50:1 mixture in the gas tank.
-Run the engine on the hose for about 10 minutes to ensure the oil mixture has worked through the lines and fuel filter.
-Adjust the idle so that it runs at about 3000 RPM.
            -Turn off the engine.
-Disconnect the oil line to the front carb.
-Find a sutable measuring cup that can hold 100 ml.
-Use tape to hold oil pump cable fully open.
-Start the engine again and let it run for exactly 2 minutes.

After that you should see around 2.5-3ml. if you are around that then the pump is fine. Reconnect everything, start the motor one last time and readjust the idle.
