  • Ultra Still Not Right...

I now have my 2nd SBT motor installed and after the break in period it still does not run at it's old top speed and I think whatever blew it last time is still an issue.

    1. Dash tach indicates 6000 RPM Max.
    2. Did a plug check and the plug at the back is lean.
(Ran full throttle and pulled the lanard)
    3. Checked compression and all three read 115 PSI

What else is left ? Anyone is Southeast Michigan you would recomend that knows the Ultra's real well ?

    Thanks

I don't have any local recommendations in that area, but you are definitely several hundred RPM shy. What repairs have been done on the ski?

Then you didn't do a thing.

Rebuild the carbs and replace the fuel pump at the very least.

If you had the slides out of the carbs it is possible that when you put them back togehter one of them may not have sealed. As a result you are not getting to the high speed jet on that carb or carbs.

So when you put the carbs back together you did not use new gaskets? Did ya check and change your fuel filter?

              Re: Ultra Still Not Right...

I had asked earlier about replaceing the parts when going thru the carbs and was told to replace anything that looked bad. (Nothing looked Bad) I called a couple of local dealers and they all recomended a specific place in my area that specializes in my type of Jetski so I dropped it of there. I will let you know what they say.

                Re: Ultra Still Not Right...

That's not something we, or any other real professional would say. You can't tell by 'looking' if a gasket or diaphram is sealing, flexing and pumping correctly. To rebuild carbs means replacing all the internal parts. Hopefully your shop will do it right for you.

                  Ultra Still Not Right...

Just got my Ultra back last night from the repair guy and he indicated after removing the carbs and tearing them down he could find nothing wrong. (Still runs at 6,000 Max) Charged me $ 175.00 and said he doesn't have time to look at it anymore but offered me a set of verified good carbs to try. I installed them last night and will give them a try tonight. I guess the local dealer who recomended them was wrong. Will keep you posted.

Sounds like you got ripped off and need to find a better shop or learn to do things yourself, unfortunately.

                      Warranty ??

Is the SBT 2 year warranty transferable to a new owner if I sell the ski ?

                        Re: Ultra Still Not Right...

Yes, all our warranties are by the product serial number, not the owner.
