I have a theory on the fuel system: Compresion also work below pistons making pressure an vacuum inside crankhousing , leaks in gaskets and leaking reed lowers these . Then pressure and vacuum goes thru the hole in intake manifoil and thru tube towards pulsepump on carburator .Diaphragm and checkvalves do their work and then popoff pressure lets fuel in .
If I have a little leak from reeds and my carburator is old and popoff is 55PSI,
could this be a good reason for having hard time getting started?
Could I lower popoff pressure ? Will low popoff be a disadvatage when engine is started and is to perform at higer RMP?
How low can I go ? Should I just wait for my rebuild kit and keep popoff as it is ?
Waiting for funds to get a new set of reeds.
Ignition is just fine , new coil , plugwires , caps and sparkplugs (BR8HS).
All readings on coils from under the rotor is up to spec.
And my compression is 152 PSI on both cylinders.
